 Friendship Group
Two Friendship groups are held on a Saturday for students aged 6 years to 8 years and 9 years to 13 years.
The group is for children with autism and or aspergers.
This group is held at The Speech Language Centre in, The Royal Oak Medical Centre, 691 Manukau Road, Royal Oak.
The group runs from the second week of each school term for a period of 8 weeks, with a definite focus for each week.
The main focus is to encourage communication and social skills in a safe, comfortable environment. Students are encouraged to participate by gentle encouragement. New areas of focus will be generated each term.
Facilitators complete a report on each student at the end of each term.
The fee for the group for this term is: $350 for the 8 week block, which may be split, paid in week one and week 8 of the term.
Carer support days may not be used to pay for the group.
The groups run each term dependent on member enrolments (with a minimum of 3 and maximum of 10)
