Accent Reduction Programme

Accent reduction training facilitates in helping people who speak English as a second language, improve in their production of English speech sounds. This training helps people produce English speech sounds in the manner that native English speakers talk.

Generally one’s native language defines who one is, however in order to communicate effectively in another language and in another culture, one must develop the skill to talk clearly and precisely, using the correct speech rate, intonation and pronunciation.

The Accent reduction training programme will aim to:

• Enhance self-confidence
• Reduces embarrassment and frustration
• Reduces unfair accent discrimination
• Improves customer relations
• Improves employer and employee relationships
• Improves employment opportunities
• Encourages better speech clarity and more effective communicative skills
• It will encourage people to pay attention to what you are saying rather than being distracted by your accent.

Sessions may be in groups and /or individual based on areas of difficulty.  Sessions are charged at $100 per session (individual), $250 per session for a group of 5 participants if they jointly agree to work together.
