I have been a Speech Language therapist for over 16 years. I have a Bachelor of Speech and Hearing Therapy degree and Bachelor of Arts (SA). I enjoy working with both adults and children. I have worked in Health, Education and with ACC cases.
I have completed my MPhil ( NZ), pertaining to language acquisition in Refugee and Migrant primary school children. I have presented my MPhil both nationally and internationally.
I have worked for over 8 years in New Zealand in varied settings as a Speech Language therapist and 9 years overseas in a major provincial hospital as a Speech Therapist and Audiologist. I have also had Basic and Advanced training in M.O.V.E(Mobility Opportunities Via Education). I have also had training in PECS( Picture Exchange Communication Systems)
I enjoy working with clients with delayed speech and language, dysfluency, autism, aspergers, English as a second language, accent reduction, social skills problems, neurological impairment, traumatic brain injury, apraxia, Parkinson's, tactile defensive clients.
In working with the people of New Zealand... I would like to keep as my motto the words of George P Burnham:
"I can't do it" never yet accomplished anything;
"I will try" has performed wonders.
